“Look, that was King Tutankhamun’s cup!” Ahmed, a new student, explained to trip-volunteer Jordan. Reading the signs in Arabic, Ahmed explained each artifact to his group. After seeing maintenance being done to the statues, Fatma excitedly stated “I want to take care of the mummies!”
Each month, Mish Madrasa organizes an enriching event for the students. In the past we have worked on teamwork by playing football; explored nature with a trip to a Saft El-Laban farm; and this month we studied Pharaonic History before traveling to the National Museum of Egypt!
As we piled into the bus to go back to Saft El-Laban, the students chatted about the priceless necklaces, spears, and sarcophagus they saw in the museum. “Where did they find all of the artifacts?” Amir asked. A perfect question for next month’s trip: The Giza Pyramids!
