Mish Madrasa has the pleasure to announce an upcoming partnership with the Global Sleepover company in Washington D.C. in the United States.
Mish Madrasa and Global Sleepover will start exchanging curriculum strategies, teaching methodologies and best practices so that the children, both in DC and Saft al-Leban, benefit first and foremost.
We are also very excited to announce that Mish Madrasa will open a new branch in DC in August 2017.
We have already started a Skype exchange programme, connecting the children at Mish Madrasa with students in DC, an initiative meant to promote empathy with children from both sides presenting their culture. Connecting the two sides of the world through Mish Madrasa and Global Sleepover is great way to challenge myths and stereotype; with the children now exchanging music, ideas and even stories from their daily lives.
The students from Mish Madrasa were surprised to see how diverse an American classroom can be, while the Global Sleepover children said they were surprised at the ability of Mish Madrasa students to speak English and how they use technology. They are becoming friends now.
The Global Sleepover will also start a storytelling program for the children at Mish Madrasa to teach them how to write their own stories.
